If I speak words of wisdom

If I speak words of wisdom, inspired from above,    
if I fathom the mysteries of life,
and my faith moves a mountain, but I don’t have love,
I’m as dead as a river run dry.    
        
So I will remain in the love of my Lord
and cling like a branch to the vine.
I’ll walk in his footsteps and live by his word,
and I will remain, I will remain in his love.
 
I could give all I have to the needy and poor,
I could suffer for every good cause,
yet, if my life is loveless, then I’ve fallen short
of the fruitfulness God made me for.
 
So I’ll look to the Saviour and follow his lead,
every day, as I lay down my life.
And I’ll love in response to the love I’ve received,
bearing fruit to the glory of Christ.
