As the seeds are planted,
let them yield a harvest,
when the crops are gathered:
let the earth find rest.

As the workers labour,
they deserve their wages,
let them feast with gladness:
let the earth find rest.

Let the earth find rest
as the Lord provides,
till the day of perfect peace;
for the Lord is good
and his love endures
and his mercies never cease.

When the wealthy prosper,
may their hearts be generous,
let them hate injustice:
let the earth find rest.

Bible Passages: Lev 25; Psalm 100:5; Eccles 5

Scripture teaches us that how we treat others and the world around us is as important a part of our worship as our songs and gatherings. The principles of Sabbath and Jubilee in Leviticus 25 require that “the land is to have a year of rest”. Rich and poor alike must trust in the provision of God. The verses of this song explore some of the issues of justice raised by that command, and the chorus affirms our trust in God.
