Holy Spirit inspire again

Added 29th August 2014

If you’re a fan of what we do, would you consider supporting us with a one-off or regular gift?
Resound Worship is a ministry of the Song and Hymn Writers Foundation, a charity dedicated to publishing quality worship songs as well as training, resourcing and influencing worship songwriters from the grass roots to published composers. We’d really value your support.

Holy Spirit, inspire again,
come revive again,
breathe your life again.
Be the hope in our weary hearts,
set our lives apart,
make us strong.

Come, Holy Spirit, come,
heaven's flame burn brighter in our hearts.
Come with your holy fire,
heaven's flame burn brighter,
burn brighter in us.

Holy Spirit, restore again,
be outpoured again,
then we'll soar again.
Be the power of Christ in us
and in righteousness
lead us on.

Let your power come,
let your love burn,
in our hearts,
in our lives.

God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” Rom 5:5. This song is simply a prayer to the Holy Spirit for a fresh outpouring upon us for restoration and empowerment. A touch from the Holy Spirit can bring strength when we feel weak, hope and love when we are weary and renewed inspiration when the fire in our hearts has dimmed or burned out. Paul’s call to the Ephesians (ch5) to “be filled with the Spirit” is in the tense of present continuous ‘keep on being filled’ and can be likened to us stopping and re-fueling our tanks regularly on life’s journey. I hope this song will help us to do this.
