O Gracious Light

If you’re a fan of what we do, would you consider supporting us with a one-off or regular gift?
Resound Worship is a ministry of the Song and Hymn Writers Foundation, a charity dedicated to publishing quality worship songs as well as training, resourcing and influencing worship songwriters from the grass roots to published composers. We’d really value your support.

Father you have searched me,
known my every way,
waited through rebellion,
followed as I strayed,
called me home from ruin,
my calloused heart renewed:
even my darkness was not too dark for you.

When my heart is wounded,
weary from the fight;
troubles overwhelm me,
plague my soul and mind;
prayers are left unanswered,
doubts and fears pursue:
even this darkness is not too dark for you.

O Gracious Light, pure brightness of the Lord,
O Jesus Christ, shine on me now.
O Light from light, illuminate this valley.
Show me this darkness is not too dark for you.

When all joy has left me,
pain my closest friend,
dawn reveals no mercy,
all my tears are spent;
when I find no peace or
comfort in the truth:
even this darkness is not too dark for you.
