If you’re a fan of what we do, would you consider supporting us with a one-off or regular gift?
Resound Worship is a ministry of the Song and Hymn Writers Foundation, a charity dedicated to publishing quality worship songs as well as training, resourcing and influencing worship songwriters from the grass roots to published composers. We’d really value your support.

O downcast soul, torn and troubled,
are tears your only food?
You’re not alone in your anguish,
he weeps, he weeps with you,
he weeps, he weeps with you.

Though days are dark, veiled in shadow,
and nights, enfolding tombs,
beside you stands a man of sorrows
who mourns, who mourns with you;
he mourns, he mourns with you

The Son of God has tasted all your grief,
his heart has borne unbounded agony,
and he is close, he knows your suffering;
and he will see you through,
and he will see you through.

O broken soul, don’t stay silent,
lay bare your deepest wounds.
He hears your cries with compassion
and pleads, and pleads for you;
he pleads, he pleads for you

His heart can bear the force of your complaints,
he will not scorn the sorrow in your praise
he welcomes you with open arms of grace;
he waits, he waits for you,
he waits, he waits for you,
he waits, he waits for you.

From the double album 'Downcast Souls, Expectant Hearts' due January 2024.
